5/7/2012 Our flight was supposed to leave Chicago O'Hare at 6:35pm but ended up being about an hour late due to some major thunderstorms that went through the area. This delay pushed us back to a 9am arrival in Dublin. Going through customs and collecting baggage and finding the bus to get us close to the hotel was nice and easy. Once we got off the bus near Trinity College, finding our hotel, Central Hotel, took a little work. It's hard to find street signs in Dublin. We had to drop off our luggage at the hotel as the room wasn't quite ready. We then ventured out for lunch. We ended up walking around Trinity College a little bit and then found a good kebab place. After lunch we went back to the hotel to check in and take a nice hot shower. It took a little bit to figure out how to not have a scalding shower. We went back out for another walk around downtown Dublin, this time stopping at a bar called Fitzgerald's for the first Guinness of the trip. At this point, with the exception of a little sleep on the plane, we've been up for 24+ hours so it was time for a nap before dinner. Once rested, dinner was found at another bar. Shepherd's pie, Guinness stew and fish 'n chips was ordered along with another round of Guinness. After finding that there would be some live music Pat and Andy stayed to listen for a little bit before heading back to the hotel for some well deserved sleep.
