No description Today was so gorgeous we decided to head up to the Zugspitze, the
highest mountain in Germany. We got up a little late so dad could
go play a quick round of golf and then right before lunch we headed
up to Lake Eibsee where we bought roundtrip tickets up the cog-wheel
train and small cable car to the top of the Zugspitze with a large
cable car back down all the way to Lake Eibsee. The first part of the
ride was uphill a long way and thru some tunnels all the way to the
Schneeferner galcier plateau which has Germany's highest chapel.
We had a small bit to eat at the restaurant here and then took a
short cable ride to the top of the Zugspitze. At the top we walked
around for a while and then took the big cable car down to Lake
Eibsee. Here we had a quick beer and break and headed back to the
campground where we all checked our email again before heading
to Switzerland. For dinner a friend of dad's, Jack Smithback invited
us over for a barbeque (U.S. hamburger). After dinner and a little
bit of dessert we headed back to the cabin to fall asleep.
